Allison Lynn

Canadian artist Allison Lynn has led an eclectic career singing a variety of music including musical theater, jazz, gospel and big band. Over her extensive career, she has played roles on stage, television, and film.

Allison comes from a strong church background. As a minister's daughter, Allison joyfully spent Sunday mornings learning about Jesus and singing His praise. Although her upbringing did not always affect the choices she made in her life and career, Gospel music always remained an important part of Allison's art and faith.

On December 21, 2001, the suicide of a family member shook Allison's life, and her faith in God, to the core. But God proved faithful, and Allison learned many lessons about the infinite and unconditional love of her Lord.

In 2005, Allison felt at a crossroads in her life and career. She started to pray to God for clear direction. Her answer came that summer as she attended Ben Speer's Stamps-Baxter School of Music in Nashville, TN. While there, God touched her life in a deep and profound way. Allison returned to her home in Toronto, ON, and started a gospel music ministry, singing at churches, festivals, and special events. Within months, God was calling again, and Allison and her husband, Gerald, decided to make the move to Nashville, where they lived for 3 years.

Allison's music and message combine all aspects of her life. Her stories of overcoming grief and depression, and committing her life entirely to God, bring comfort and inspiration to people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether singing a fully staged concert, or leading a sing-along in a small inner-city church, Allison shares a powerful testimony of a faithful God who carried her through grief and restored her to a life of joy, love, and ministry.
